Security System Not Responding

One of the most common reasons your system is not responding is the batteries need replacing. If that doesn’t work, then you may have to try rebooting your system. However, if you’re still facing issues, it may be tied to your power supply. You can try resetting your circuit breaker and see if that triggers your alarm to turn back on.

Alarm Sounding Randomly

When your alarm is randomly going off, that’s usually a sign of dead batteries or batteries getting low. The alarm sounds to make you aware that there is a problem. Generally, your batteries will last two to five years.

Closed Circuit Camera Flashing

If you notice the camera on your security alarm is blinking or flashing, that usually means there’s a 12-volt transformer failure, which is the power system used to provide video. When this happens, examine power cables and outlets to make sure everything is receiving the power it needs before checking the 12V components.

Keypad Not Functioning

If the keypad of your security system isn’t functioning properly, there could be a blown fuse or tripped circuit. Sometimes, the typical “turn off and on again” technique is your solution. If not, you’ll need to call your security company to have a specialist look at your system.

Monitoring Light Problems

You can easily check that your bulbs are working by checking them one at a time. Otherwise, flickering could be caused by something as simple as an old bulb, or as serious as power supply issues. But if the lights won’t turn on at all? It’s likely that there are either larger problems with your power supply, or that the light itself is busted.
